Our Story

Centre Street Dental was established by Dr. Barry Lee in 1986 when he saw a need for a dental office in Calgary’s historic Chinatown. Dr. Barry Lee believed in doing affordable, honest, responsible, quality and gentle dentistry. The same principles which we practice by today.

As the dental clinic grew Dr. Barry felt the need to give back to the community. He volunteered at CUPS (Calgary Urban Project Society) and brought his daughter along with him to help. His daughter was inspired by the impact that dentistry can have on a person’s quality of life and self confidence. She, too, decided to get into the dental profession by becoming a Dental Hygienist in 2007 and, in 2013 she joined Barry as an Associate Dentist, and later as a Partner. In 2016, Barry’s niece, Brianna also joined Centre Street Dental as a Dental Hygienist. This was the beginning of our famiLee practice. With all the new additions to the clinic we outgrew our small 3 room clinic and we moved to our current new and renovated space in 2017. We have now been joined by our skilled associates Dr. Belinda Le and Dr. Eric Tang.

Together, we are grateful and proud to serve our community, the downtown area, and our loyal patients who travel into downtown to see us. Our focus is on patient relationships, patient education, and, as always, providing honest, gentle, and high quality treatment to all of our patients, both existing and new.
